About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails, with a strong understanding of backend development, database management, and API integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails.

  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.

  • Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.

  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure application reliability.

  • Support application deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning and technical discussions.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.

  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), MVC architecture, and software design principles.

  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.

  • Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.

  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest.

  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, and web application security.

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
